Week 18

Where to begin?! So much has happened in the last 2 weeks, so this may be a long post! We took a trip down to Murrells Inlet, SC to visit my dad for the holiday weekend. We decided to take a road trip with my sister, Kori, and her boyfriend, Matt. Because we took turns driving and picking playlists the drive actually flew by! The weekend was so relaxing... I wish we could go back. We spent a lot of time on my dad's boat and even took a trip to lay out on the beach on our last day. Ben got to meet my grandparents for the first time and even though I've been telling him that our chances of having a redhead are pretty good, he finally realized it when my grandmother told him the same thing! :)

One of the highlights of the trip (of course it involves eating) was when my dad and his fantastic girlfriend, Daphne, took us to dinner at a place called Big Ass Sandwich. They had been raving about it and being the big foodies that we are, we had to check it out. See the photo below! We ordered the grilled flatbread stuffed with fried turkey, cheese, french fries and coleslaw. Sooo delicious! We couldn't even finish and we were splitting it!

A couple Myrtle Beach souvenirs for the baby

Sadly, our weekend came to an end and we headed back to VA. I pretty much moped through the following week at work, missing the beach, but little did I know Ben had something big up his sleeve. Friday, June 4, I came home from work with a headache and a general feeling of end-of-the-work-week-blah-ness. Ben and I made a Thai dish for dinner and Ben suggested we eat outside on the deck, since the weather was so great. We were out there enjoying our beautiful surroundings and talking about life when Ben completely surprised me by getting down on one knee and proposing!! I was so shocked. I really couldn't believe it was happening. Of course I said YESSSSSSSSS!!! We are over the moon and are so happy. :) :) :)

I love my ring. It is perfect and so special!

Oh wait, I'm pregnant right? Seriously, if it weren't for my growing belly and occasional ligament pain, I wouldn't even know I was pregnant. I feel awesome almost all of the time! My hunger has definitely ramped up this week and I have yet to really feel the baby, so needless to say, I'm enjoying the second trimester much more than the first! Although, I am eagerly anticipating the first kicks and we are both counting down the days to June 17th when we find out the sex. Hopefully baby will cooperate!
