Week 15
We finally had our second OB appointment yesterday. I love going to these. Our favorite part is hearing the little heart beat with the fetal doppler. This go-around was much different than last month's when it took awhile to find the baby. The second that probe touched the center of Nikki's belly we heard a loud whooshing sound. The sound quickly became faint though. The doctor said, "Oh! It's on the move." She moved the probe all around trying to chase it down. The entire time all we could hear was this little heart beat getting louder and softer -- whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, WHOOSH, WHOOSH, whoosh, WHOOSH, whoosh, whoosh. Then we heard this really loud sound, like someone had tapped on a microphone. The baby had bumped into, punched or kicked the exact spot on which the probe was resting above. It soon calmed down enough for the doctor to get a heart rate (150 bpm).
Nikki and I love that he/she is testing out his/her little arms and legs, but we'd really like it to behave on June 17th so we can see if baby Johnson has a johnson.
